Ingredients

Recipe for 4 servings

  • 300 ml of milk
  • 200 ml of fresh cream
  • 100 g of granulated sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract or liquid vanilla

Preparation

Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan.
In the meantime, whisk the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until the mixture becomes creamy and smooth.
Gradually add the hot milk to the mixture, stirring continuously.
Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens.
When a film forms on the back of a spoon, remove from heat and let it cool completely.
Once the mixture has cooled down, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn for 35 minutes.
Serve the classic vanilla ice cream.
