Rice Pudding with Cream



Ingredients 

  • ½ cup Egyptian rice

  • 1 liter liquid milk

  • ½ cup cream

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 3 tablespoons whipped cream powder (Crème Chantilly)

  • 1¼ cup sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon rose water (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation 

  1. Prepare the Rice:

    • Wash the rice thoroughly, then soak it in water for 5 minutes.

    • In a pot, add the rice with 1 cup of water and cook until the water is absorbed.

  2. Cook the Milk and Rice:

    • Place the pot over medium heat, add the milk, and bring it to a boil while stirring continuously.

    • Once the milk starts boiling, add ½ cup of cream and mix well.

    • Add the sugar and stir continuously to prevent sticking.

  3. Thicken the Pudding:

    • In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in a little water.

    • Gradually add the dissolved cornstarch to the rice mixture, stirring constantly.

    • Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and the whipped cream powder, stirring for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens and the rice is fully cooked.

  4. Final Steps:

    • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

    • Pour the rice pudding into serving bowls.

    • Garnish as desired with pistachios, cinnamon, coconut, or raisins.
