Spicy Tripe



Ingredients

  • 1 kg tripe

  • 1 onion (sliced)

  • 6 hot chili peppers

  • ½ cup tomato juice

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

  • Chili powder

  • Oil

For Boiling:

  • 1 onion (quartered)

  • 4 cardamom pods

  • 2 bay leaves

  • Water for boiling

Preparation Step

  1. Clean the tripe thoroughly (follow proper cleaning methods).

  2. Place the tripe in a pot over heat, add water, quartered onion, cardamom, and bay leaves.

  3. Let it boil over medium heat for 1.5 to 2 hours until tender.

  4. In a separate pan, heat oil and sauté the sliced onion until soft.

  5. Add the hot chili peppers and stir-fry them.

  6. Pour in the tomato juice and tomato paste, stirring well.

  7. Add the cooked tripe and mix everything together.

  8. Season with salt, black pepper, and chili powder to taste.
